Hand - On Workshop For Industrial Automation & Control On 12th September 2024, ElectroTech, the official technical society of the EEE department at MAIT, conducted a hands-on workshop on Industrial Automation Workshop in collaboration with Sho Shin Training Pvt. Ltd. Held in the Control Systems Lab (Room 631), the workshop was attended by 50 students from the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th semesters. The main objective of the workshop was to provide essential knowledge on Industrial Automation, PLC, SCADA, HMI, VFD, and Industrial Robotics. Mr. Parmish Chaudhary, Automation Trainer at Sho Shin Automation, and Mrs. Debarati, Industrial Trainer at Sho Shin Automation led the session. They outlined the objectives and contents of the workshop. Mr. Chaudhary introduced the need for automation, explaining its definition, tools, and types. He also discussed the history of automation, controlling devices, and the advantages and disadvantages of automation systems, along with their industrial applications. The session included an introduction to PLC programming, with practical demonstrations of converting electrical circuits to ladder diagrams. The program concluded with Dr. Monika Gupta, HOD of EEE, emphasizing the importance of the topics, and Dr. Poonam Juneja, Faculty Coordinator, additionally been volunteered by Mr. Prince (3rd year), core member of the society. The event was well-received and left students inspired to explore the industry fields and pursue these areas in the future.
